Moving from Hillsboro, Texas to Atlanta I started practicing yoga in 2016 from watching videos online, and community events in the area. I started to search for a healthy community, a sense of belonging, and a way to cope with a long battle of anxiety. I joined highland yoga in 2018, & fell in love with hot yoga, and the power flow the studio offered. I had to show up on my mat for myself first while finding balance with everyday life obstacles. Having yoga in my life has helped me with my overall confidence and putting together the pieces that I thought were lost. Over the past few years, my practice has helped me grow mentally, and physically. I began my teaching journey with highland yoga in Fall 2021, finishing my 200-hour training, and it was a life- changing experience.
If could think of one word that would sum up my reason to share the joys of yoga, it would be Legacy. As an early educator, I would like to leave something behind that the next generation can fall back on when times of need. Having a daily yoga and meditation practice has aided in my ability to take up space and find a home on and off my mat. My goal for my students is to provide an inclusive space for all and be an example that finding mental health and peace is for everyone.
